About Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang valley trek is a part of the picturesque Langtang National Park that runs between the Gosaikunda Lake Trek and the Tamang Heritage Cultures Trek,  in the remote mountains of northern Nepal. Langtang valley trek is a part of Jugal Himal trek and Langtang Himal trek.   Langtang trek is often called "the valley of glaciers trek". The trekking paths traverse through some restricted spaces and tropical vegetation. The river valley offers healthy forests, some endangered wildlife, a bird-eye view of high mountains including Langtang Lirung (7245m), and the live culture of the local Tamang people. In addition, the trek through the Langtang valley provides some of the best off-the-beaten-trail trekking in Nepal.

The Langtang Valley Trek has long been a popular trek because it can be reached quite easily from Kathmandu, within a day's drive then start at Syabrubesi and follow up the Langtang river. In 2017, the New York Times listed the Langtang Valley Trek as one of the world's 52 top hiking destinations. Some parts of the Langtang valley trek are quite tougher with the difficult slopes and rocky path. At such points, you must walk slowly and carefully. The rest of the trekking trails are quite easy with the enticing nature views on your side. The hill forest (2000-2600m), which includes chirpine, rhododendron, and Nepalese poplar, gradually replaces the subtropical vegetation in the southern  Sal forest. Moreover, the park is also well known for its populations of red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, wild dog, ghoral, serow, and more than 250 species of birds.

Langtang is the closest place where you could observe the massive snow-capped mountains and beautiful glaciers. This valley is located only 19 miles north of Kathmandu. The whole valley is dominated by Mount Langtang Lirung (7246m) and offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock, snow-capped peaks, grassy downs, and meadows. The last destination of this trekking is Kyanjin Gompa, 3860m. The pleasurable atmosphere is created as you observe  Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Gangchempo (Langtang Ri 7205m), Porong Ri (7292m), and Yala mountain (5520m). Furthermore, your additional time and your desire to hike up leads you towards visiting ancient Buddhist monasteries and mountain glaciers. You can also take the opportunity to ascend Kyangjin Ri (4350m). From its top, you will get 360-degree mountain views. From Kyangjin, you retrace your route back down the valley to Syabru Besi and then drive back to Kathmandu.

In addition to the 9-day Langtang Valley Trek, Mountain Guide Trek and Expedition pvt. Ltd. can change the travelers' days in accordance with visitor's preferences and concerns. The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, the Langtang Ganjala Pass Trek, or the Langtang Helambu Circuit trek would be good alternatives for your holiday if you have unlimited or limited time.

How safe is Langtang Valley trek for Female hikers ?

Both male and female tourists can travel safely in Nepal. When exploring the various locations, female trekkers need to take extra precautions. Each and every nation has its own culture, language, and way of life, and respect is the most important thing you need to learn before traveling. Occasionally strange circumstances arise unintentionally. Despite the rarity of sexual harassment incidents in Nepal, we urge female guests to limit their nighttime outings and get back at their accommodations on time. You are kept safe from wild animals and occasionally even from people by your timely arrival at your destination.

Pick up your bags and look for our representative at the arrival gate with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition display board with the name of the Group leader after finishing your customs formalities (Visa, etc.). After that, you will be taken to the hotel. After check-in, if time allows, you will visit the MGT headquarters to meet your trekking guide as well as other participants and for final preparation for the trip. Your arrival time will determine everything. (BB-based overnight stay in a luxury hotel)

Depending on the number of people traveling, the drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi takes about nine hours by bus or Land Cruiser. Driving over picturesque slopes and ridgeline panoramas to Syabru Besi after leaving Kathmandu, you pass via Dhunche. You may see Ganesh Himal, terraces, and lush hills as you travel along the road at the Trishuli River's bank. You get the impression that you are moving toward deep land as you travel through Dhunche. The road is still being built, you realize at the same time. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

The trail initially follows the Langtang Khola and passes through Bhote Koshi. This path passes through the Landslide area as it gradually climbs to Bamboo. Your trip then gradually climbs to Rimche (2400 meters), passing via Bamboo (1960 meters), which is located along the bank of the Langtang Khola. If you'd like, you can eat lunch here. The trail to the Lama Hotel is level toward the end. If you're lucky, you might spot red pandas, monkeys, and bears along the way. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

The walk path follows Gumanechok, also known as the Horse Stable (Ghoda Tabela). Following this, the trail becomes gently inclining and picturesque in the valley with the grazing Yaks. As we approach the peak, the vista from Langtang village, one of the small and historic settlements along this trekking path, becomes even more breathtaking. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

It's a shorter walk today, but it's long enough to acclimate. Because of the well-known cheese manufacturing, the surroundings are fascinating. A spot to explore the valley and many other minor peaks is the stunning valley in the lap of the Langtang Lirung and other nearby mountains (Overnight at tea house on full board basis)

Retracing your steps from Kyangjin to Ghora Tabela, you first follow the Langtang Khola to Langtang hamlet. You keep on the inclining descent to Lama Hotel after lunch. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

Because of the expansive mountain and green hill vistas, the trail's top section is more attractive. Through the several Tamang and Sherpa villages, this path is wider and always in the sun. The trail gradually descends for the first half of its length before making a sharp fall to the Syabru Besi (1600m). The majority of the people that live in the Chilime Power Plant are from the Tamang community and have adopted a Tibetan way of life. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

Drive back to Kathmandu via local bus or private vehicle in the morning. The journey to Kathmandu takes 7 to 8 hours. Do not forget that the Mountain Guide Trek crew will be joining us for a wonderful celebration "Farewell dinner" to honor the accomplishment of the Langtang Valley Trek at a traditional Nepalese restaurant! (BB basis, overnight stay in a luxury hotel)

The trip's final day in Nepal is today, so you're bidding goodbye to the mountains and wrapping up your time there. There is nothing to do but organize the images and exchange emails with travel partners. You can go shopping or go sightseeing if you have more time. A Mountain Guide Treks representative will drive you to the airport around three hours prior to your flight's planned departure time.
