You can purchase your permit in Kathmandu or on the second day in Monjo, but you must come prepared with some cash in Nepal.

Everest base camp trek Porters and guides

It will be quite helpful to have a guide or porter with you on the 12-day EBC trekking since they will make the journey much easier. If you have a knowledgeable trekking guide with you, you may reach your desired location without encountering any difficulties. A professional trekking guide will provide you with a wealth of information about the area, reserve your tea house accommodations for you, look after you, and respond quickly if you need an emergency helicopter or horse service.

Your porter will carry your luggage, making it easier for you to carry just a small daypack with your essential items like a camera, phone, battery, electrical equipment, water jackets, medicine, etc. Your trekking guide will carry his own pack and trek with you in a similar manner.

However, if you have a guide or porters with you, your great walk will be free of problems, making it less difficult and more pleasant.

A porter will cost $20 to $25 US per day, and a guide to EBC will cost between $25 and $60 US per day, depending on the size of the group and the guide's competence.

Dinner During EBC Trip

When you spend the night at a tea house, dinner is served there. Trekkers need to refuel with a filling dinner after a strenuous day of hiking in order to maintain their energy levels. Typically, hikers can find the same dishes, which are comparable to lunch, at every tea house along the way. For dinner, you can choose between the traditional Nepali dal bhat and the other foods indicated. What to eat and what to avoid while trekking to Everest Base Camp? A sufficient amount of body energy is required to trek at a higher altitude for more than 8 to 10 hours each day. For this, trekkers want wholesome, clean food as well as lots of fluids throughout the entire walk.

Accommodations during the EBC Trip

The traditional style of hiking lodging along the EBC trail is the teahouse. Most of the tea shops along the route to Everest Base Camp are constructed and run by nearby communities. Tea houses are specialized lodgings that offer the bare necessities for hikers to relax. Houses can be of varying quality.

The most typical word for a restaurant or eating establishment in Nepali is "hotel". Since the term "hotel" has already been taken, Nepalese people refer to lodgings or inns as "lodges" or "tea houses." Therefore, a hotel may offer food but not a place to sleep along Nepal's trekking paths. A lodge, however, always provides lodging.
